Het is weekend. Behalve in Gaza. In Gaza is het nooit weekend. Nope. Na vijf dagen hard werken om raketten te ontwijken bestaat het 'weekend' vooral uit twee dagen raketten ontwijken. En dan vanaf maandag weer raketten ontwijken. Het is het soort dagelijkse realiteit waardoor je automatisch death metal of hardcore gaat luisteren. Zolang het maar tiefusherrie is waardoor je de inslagen, de sirenes en het gekrijs van stervende kinderen tijdelijk kan buitensluiten. Tijdens de oorlog in voormalig Joegoslavië was Metallica erg populair in de schuilkelders. En U2, om welke reden dan ook. Zouden Palestijnen zulke muziek mogen luisteren van Hamas? En hoe dan? Er is geen stroom. Luxegoederen als iPods zullen beperkt aanwezig zijn. Zijn er wel schuilkelders, eigenlijk? Of vallen die onder Hamas-tunnels en zijn ze dus onderhevig aan de vernietigingsdrang van het Israëlische leger? Fuck. Wat een puinhoop. Prettig weekend. En be nice.
