Prettig weekend. En be nice.

Absurd Creature of the Week: The Vampire Frog That Devours Its Mother's Eggs

The frog they’d found wasn’t particularly remarkable. As far as flying frogs go, its feet weren’t as comically large and webbed as, say, Helen’s flying frog (which Rowley also discovered, and named after her mother). But once Rowley got a tadpole under a microscope, she realized she’d found the most unique larval frog on Earth.

In Liberia, Ebola survivors care for orphans of the disease

Each has a survival story, one that began with a gesture of love and care and led to hell and back.

Yesterday, before I got here, my dad was trying to fix an invisible machine. By all accounts, he began working on the phantom device quite intently, but as his repairs began to involve the hospice …

The Undersea Afterlives of Three Little Piggies

Science often answers questions that I never would have thought to ask. For example, what happens to a pig carcass when you leave it on the ocean bottom? This isn’t science trivia. While scientists know quite a bit about how bodies decompose on land, forensic researchers Gail Anderson and Lynne Bell point out at the […]

Nowadays with discount airlines, hybrid cars and night buses, it’s easy to get where you want to go quickly and cheaply.
